About the role
This opportunity can be based in Auckland - or Hamilton!
For our Preformance team, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Design Manager with a background and a degree qualification in architecture. This role will be to support a Design Manager and to be involved with a market leading company working within projects of a larger scale.
The Assistant Design Manager will typically have several years’ experience and be working towards gaining a becoming a Registered Architect. Designers are primarily responsible for preparing our design deliverables, with a focus on developing well resolved designs and quality documentation that is buildable, coordinated and where possible is standardised and suitable for Off Site Manufacture (OSM). Assistant Design Managers are working to develop an exceptional understanding of the design process across all disciplines to assist in managing discipline interfaces and the sequencing of design activities. This role will support more experienced Designer or Design Managers on larger or more complex projects and/or lead the design process on small scale projects.
As a pivotal member of the Pre-Construction team, this role must positively contribute to the team, championing the Company’s ‘Inside the Box’ culture, whilst directly and indirectly contributing to day-to-day delivery, building our reputation with clients and external parties, and running our projects in a profitable manner.
This role will also support our Sustainability capability by working towards achieving a Homestar & Greenstar accreditation, with the goal of ultimately leading sustainability for projects and preparing Greenstar or Homestar submissions for Preformance & Southbase projects.
Skills & Experience
Skills Required:
- 3-4 years + working within vertical build Construction
- Experience working within a main contractor or a Architectural company
- Degree Qualified in Architecture
- Working towards a Professional Qualification is desirable. (CPEng or Architectural Registration).
- BIM: Competent in the use of Revit.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with professionals from diverse technical backgrounds, facilitating knowledge sharing and supporting project delivery.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle design challenges with innovative solutions.
- Continuous Professional Development: Participation in ongoing learning or certifications to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
