About the role: 

Reporting to the Estimating Manager, you will identify and develop opportunities for the company to maximise its gross margin by skilfully preparing and presenting estimates and tenders for projects and development proposals, and then manage the tenders within your region.

In this role, you will responsible for tendering locally and occasionally across the South Island with the ability to price multiple projects from $1m to $30m. 

 You will have:

  • Proven experience of working as an Estimator of 5 years+ pricing tenders in QT/Lakes
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong local market knowledge with successful industry relationships 
  • Good knowledge and proficiency of models / CostX
  • Tender Management: Experience in preparing and presenting estimates and tenders for projects, including securing subcontractor relations and managing tender documents.
  • Cost Analysis: Proficiency in carrying out cost studies, cost research, and pricing main contractor’s work, including Preliminary and General Item.
  • Project Quantification: Ability to quantify projects, review alternative construction methods, and construct a program of events/activities in collaboration with managers.
  • Post-Tender Activities: Skills in responding to tender clarifications, negotiating details with subcontractors, and preparing final summaries for successful tenders.
  • NZ Residency or a valid NZ work visa.
