Your new role

The Quantity Surveyor provides direction to the Site Management Team as required on the financial status and forecasting of the project.

The Quantity Surveyor ensures safety, quality, cost, and time requirements are adhered to throughout the duration of the contract, including the maintenance period that follows.

You will be stepping into a project that fits with your skills and experience with progression opportunities to stretch yourself under individual mentoring and guidance. This role will see you support with project financial planning/project set up, working with project and site managers to understand construction methodologies, tender management, managing subcontractors claims, managing and processing variations, final account work in terms of cost reporting and reconciliations. Client engagement, site visits and HSE are all part of this role.

As a key member of the Commercial department, the Quantity Surveyor must lead by example, championing our ‘Inside the Box’ culture, providing day-to-day guidance and mentoring of team members, whilst directly and indirectly contributing towards day-to-delivery.

Skills required

  • Strong background as an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor in large commercial projects with a main contractor, with at least 5 years experience. 
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • You must possess great sub-contractor relationship development and management skills.  
  • You will enjoy driving profitability on jobs, and have a sharp eye for identifying any variations in savings.  
  • Your contractual knowledge is sound and you can point to relevant legislation.  
  • You are a team player and are able to add value as a team member through your individuality.
